Papas Stéfanos

Artista plástico, nascido na ilha de Rodhis, Grécia, quando criançã percorria as 

escavações junto ao seu tio Nicos Zervos, a procura de algum achado arqueológico, visitava com frequência museus regionais. Desde os 4 anos apaixonou-se pela arte. chegando ao Brasil 1956, percorreu várias regiões do país. Em 1973 chegou a Goiânia e posteriormente mudou-se para a cidade de Goianira, local que lhe inspirou a criação de várias obras com temas regionais. Papas está profundamente ligado ao universo rural e regional. Transfere o lirismo para suas telas, que captam as luzes das festas populares e de paisagens. Autoditada, possui notável currículo de exposições, em vários países. Algumas de suas exposiçõe: STUDIO ART CALLERI - FLORIDA- EUA, SALÃO NOBRE IV CENTENÁRIO - IBIRATUERA - SÃOPAULO, GALERIA BORGHESE - GAVIA - RIO DE JANEIRO, SALÃO DA EMBAIXADA DA GRÉCIA - BRASILIA - DF, SALON DU JAPON - JAPÃO. Uma das honrarias mais importantes da carreira do artista foi ter recebido do poetaCarlos Drummond de Andrade, o poema "Memória", um entre os bons poemas constantes da obra publicada do famoso poeta. Tendo trabalhado a técnica regionalista, vive um novo momento retratando cenas do futebol de times brasileiros e internacionais.

A child born on the island of Rhodes, Greece, he was an inspired artist who went on many excavations next to his uncle Nicos Zervos. Nivos was a big inspiration in his eight years in Greece. Both demanding for some archaeological find, they often visited regional museums that had paintings dating all the way back to 4,000 BC. Since his excavations at the age of four he has bin in love with the arts. Leaving his uncle and coming to Brazil in 1956, he toured various regions of the country with his family. Looking for more inspiration and perfecting his own art. His tour found an end when he arrived in the city of Goiania. The four years he spent in the city was insightful but to much of a distraction for his artwork. Again looking for more inspiration, in 1973 he settled in the small town of Goinira witch was rite outside the city. Goinira, a home that inspired him to create works with a number of landscapes. He was closely tied to regional and rural universe. He would create canvases which capture the fun of popular festivals and

Bring out the beauty of the land. This creative artist did not practice in a school; he was simply born with the talent in his blood. Some of his artwork was exhibited in The Art Study Gallery in Florida, US, The Noble IV Centennial Hall in Ibirapuera,Sao Paulo, The Borghese Gallery in Gavia, Rio de Janeiro, The Hall Of Embassy Of Greece, In The Embassy Of Brasilia DF,In the Salon Art Gallery Of Japan. One of the most important honors this artist's career has seen was when the poet Carlos Drummond de Andrade's dedicated his poem "Memory", to him. Now painting technical regionalism and, moment depicting scenes from the soccer teams, he is still on his way to accomplishing his life dream.
